Eternal War Book 1: Chapter 3A sound startled me from my thoughts. Laughter. loud, raucous laughter. Ah how lovely the laughter of those too drunk to do anything else. Why was I staying here again? Oh. Right. Nice rooms, nice service, and, most importantly, nice price. Ah if only the tavern was located next door to the inn instead of right under it oh well
I sighed and tried to return to deciphering my book. My very odd book. My very odd, apparently magical book that literally fell from the sky. I still had no idea what the hell it was other than that.
With an annoyed sigh, I stood up and stretched. Again, no luck. It's still being stubborn. All it says is that I absolutely need to find the five others with Items. Yes, with a capital 'I', as if they are really important or something. Yes, the thing has a personality. Don't ask me how the hell a book has a personality.

Eternal War Book 1: Chapter 2Dirt was everywhere.
Under my fingernails, between my toes, in my eyes, nose and mouth, on my elbows. But worst of all, on my dress. The periwinkle dress my mother had spent all winter sewing for me.
The dress that I was supposed to wear today to Sari's and Lark's wedding feast.
I stared down at the ten brown streaks across my front. Ten dirty fingers, ten glaring pieces of evidence telling my mother that I had been past the village boundary. I tried to wipe it off but the ten streaks became twenty, then thirty, before I gave up and plopped down on the forest floor.
My spyf, Sassafras, looked up at me with wide eyes. Sighing, I patted her furry blue head. "I don't know how I'm going to explain this one, Saff. Any ideas?" I muttered. She replied with a soft chirrup and nuzzled my hand. So much for advice.
For my mother to find out that I'd gotten my new dress ruined was one thing, but for her to catch me behind the tree line...
